My husband and I adopted Allie one week after our wedding and she has been the most precious addition to our new family. For a Jack Russell Terrier she is quite mellow and very content to be curled up on our bed or in our laps napping. That being said, she also has a seemingly unending energy reserve when its time to go to the dog park, for a long walk/run or when she sees a squirrel, bird or cat! She fits in wonderfully with my husband and I as we are both marathon runners. We are training Allie to run with us on the leash and she does great (except when she see's the occasional squirrel!) and she is up to 3-4 miles.
She attends doggie daycare 3 days a week while we are at work which is a great opportunity for her to socialize and play. She is also in her 2nd week of obedience school, we've found she is an extremely intelligent dog and very strong-willed, requiring patience on our part in training her. She has traveled to Bakersfield to meet her human grandparents and their Dalmatian, Cleo, who is her newest best buddy.
Last weekend she traveled up the coast to visit grandma, grandpa and Cleo at the beach house in Pismo Beach. She had a wonderful time playing on the sand and barking at the waves! This winter she'll travel to Seattle to meet her other human grandparents. We couldn't be happier to have Allie in our lives! We love her so much and love every minute we spend with her! Its amazing how much we have willingly altered our daily routines to accommodate her, just so we can spend more time with her. She is so much fun and we truly feel blessed to have her. Thank you for helping us find such a great dog!
