DR. DEAN GRAULICH SAVES THE DAY!
Accustomed as we are to seeing true miracles daily, this one still causes our eyes to fill and hearts to tug... and we thought you'd enjoy it, too.
A mere two weeks ago, Chris Halloram, volunteer at Long Beach SPCA asked if a little old mini-doxie with massive tumors could come to B&B to live out her days. We asked Junior Walker's Mom (remember that great guy?) for help and next thing we knew, "Chile" was wisked away to Dr. Dean Graulich's Pacific Coast Animal Hospital in Malibu. (picture on the left)
To everyone's surprise, the huge tumors that dragged on the ground raw, bleeding and infected, all turned out to be benign! Chile also got her teeth cleaned and was spayed. She looks and acts like a puppy after this extreme make over. She's now living on the beach with the great family Jr. Walker entranced... and she is estimated to be 10 years rather than the 16 previously thought! (If you want to see a REALLY gross picture of poor Chile's condition before her surgery... click here).
Much thanks to everyone who saved Chile's life. We have recalled and shared this Happily Ever After so many times - and remember it daily... to give ourselves a lift, to say "Thank You" again to the angels who watch over us, and to never forget why we're here and what our work is.
Dr. Dena (shown on the right) is the vet who actually did the surgery on Chile. She's a new and welcome addition to the staff at Dr. Dean's!
Chile snuggles with her boyfriend Oscar (also a B&B alumni).
Here's Chile recuperating next to her pal Garry Shandling!
